Newton’s Airport builds on classroom study of Newton’s Laws and Potential/Kinetic Energy by providing a laboratory session for students. The museum conducts the lab session at your school or facility. Using rubber powered aircraft, students will complete experiments varying the separate forces on an aircraft, recording the results. Then the students plot and analyze the results and make predictions based on the plotted results.
The program is suitable for grades 6th through 12th and is very adaptable to after school clubs, youth groups, day camps and other extracurricular activities. Contact the museum for more information about how to bring this lab experience to your students.
